- No, I haven't given up on Gameboy Tetris! Er... actually, my UCLA e-mail
account is expiring, so I'm going through the process of changing all these
pages. Meantime, I graduated from college and am now working. - One thing I almost forgot to mention: The Unofficial Gameboy Tetris
Home Page was featured in the February 1999 issue of the UK's Arcade.
Page 160:The crazy world of the Web reveals some bizarre attempts to get to the bottom of [Tetris'] appeal. Try Brian Kobashikawa's exhaustive site: (http://synergy.design.ucla.edu/gallery/kobashik/tetris/) which offers, among other things, an analysis of the sexual pleasures gained from a good game of Tetris. He also believes that the game "achieved its world-wide popularity due to it not being particularly bound to any culture or society - it transcends all barriers."
- For the past couple months I've shifted from Tetris to working on Synergy.
In the meantime, I have received two more awards:
my first Canadian award (from Food & Leisure Magazine)
and a Bronze Trophy from the Chicago Internet Review.
Oddly enough, Food & Leisure said my website was "Kid Safe Cool".
I must still warn about that one page, which I still get letters about.
- Got a Gameboy Color, with Tetris DX. Expect a review in the future.
- Was selected the Project Cool Sighting for September 23.
The (mixed) review: "Although we suspect the person behind
today's Sighting has no life, they do have good design sense."
