Flash documentary. 550 x 400px. March 1999. Here was a week-long assignment on media machines - a Flash-based documentary on the fictitious Aeropanomagniscope. It's based on the professor's thesis that all of today's media machines are not technological phenomenoa, but are based on earlier inventions and innovations, and shaped by societal and cultural needs. This particular invention was both a "predecessor" to today's VR machines, and a calling back to the torture devices of the Roman empire, etc. |
